Kyra Minturn
Kyraminturn Sedgwick was conceived on August 19, 1965. She is an American producer and actress. Her most well-known work is her starring role as deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson on the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick was awarded two Emmy Awards in the years 2010 and 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson. After the seventh season Sedgwick won the Golden Globe Award in 2007 and an Emmy Award in the year 2010. The show ended on August 13th, 2012. Sedgwick is also well-known for her recurring role as Madeline Wuntch on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick won the Golden Globe Award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film credits include Oliver Stone's Born On the Fourth of July (1989) and Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000), What's Cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The actress also appeared in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick is the daughter Patricia Rosenwald who is an educator and family therapist, a venture capitalist, and Henry Dwight Sedgwick VII Speech therapist. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was Episcopalian and of English descent. Sedgwick has stated that she is Jewish and has said she is a part of Passover seders.
