She was previously a political candidate, as a host from the US at MSNBC and a frequent contributor to The Huffington Post, former co-host and host of The Hill's Rising along with Saagarenjeti. She has appeared as a guest in shows such as Real Time with Bill Maher, Fox News (CNBC), Fox News (Fox News) as well as CNN (CNBC). Ball is currently married to Jonathan Dariyanani, as of 2020. She was able to observe how the election affected the people of that country and gained an appreciation for US political influence across the globe. She was a Senior Fellow at the New Leaders Council. Ball was the Democratic Party's nominee for Congress in Virginia’s 1st congressional District in 2010. She lost to Rob Wittman, the Republican incumbent. She was the host of The Cycle, a MSNBC TV show that she hosted from June 2012 until August 2015. In May 2017, she founded the People's House Project, a political action committee that works on behalf of Democratic causes.
