Catherine Anne

 Catherine Anne O'Hara, OC was born on March 4, 1954. She is a comedian from Canada as well as an actress and writer. O'Hara is the recipient of a number of prizes, including a Genie Award, a Golden Globe Award and two Screen Actors Guild Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards, and six Canadian Screen Awards. In 2018, O'Hara was elected an Officer of Canada. She also received the Governor General’s Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement Medal in 2020. O'Hara became famous as an actress as a member in 1974 of The Second City, an comedy troupe that was based in Toronto. She was part of the main ensemble cast of the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978) alongside John Candy and Dan Aykroyd. The following year, O'Hara and Candy began working on the sketch comedy show Second City Television (1976-1984), where she drew the attention of critics for both her work as a comedic actress and as a writer, securing an Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for the Variety Series in 1981. O'Hara was named to the Second City artistic advisory panel in 2022 by Stephen Colbert.
