Kamala Harris
Kamala Devi Harris was born October 20 1964. She is an American politician. She is the first woman elected vice president and she also holds the title of most powerful female officer in the history of America. She is a member of the Democratic Party and was previously the attorney general of California between 2011 and 2017. Additionally, she served as an United States senator representing California between 2017 and 2021. Harris was born in Oakland and graduated from Howard University, University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Harris began her career at the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. She was then appointed to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. In 2003 she was elected district attorney for San Francisco. She was elected Attorney-General of California in 2010 and was reelected in 2014. Harris was the United States junior senator from California between 2017 and 2021. Harris beat Loretta Sanchez in the 2016 Senate election, becoming the 2nd African American woman and the first South Asian American to serve in the United States Senate. She was a senator who fought for healthcare and federal de-scheduling cannabis. A pathway to citizenship for immigrants who are not legally recognized. The DREAM Act bans assault weapons and progressive tax reform. Her pointed questioning of Trump officials during Senate hearings has garnered her national attention, which included the second Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh, who was charged with sexual assault.
